Mood

How does the app estimate my mood?

When you haven't checked in, the Watch tab makes a gentle guess from things on your iPhone only: the time of day and your schedule, what you've watched lately, and your recent check-ins. It always says it's a guess, and it never leaves your device. You can ignore it, or tell it how you actually feel with one tap.

How do I correct a wrong guess?

On the Watch tab, tap Not quite? Tell me under the guess and pick how you really feel. The app learns from each correction, so the signals that were wrong count for less next time.

Do I have to do mood check-ins?

No. They're always optional, one tap, and at most three times a day. Skip them and the app still suggests titles by time of day and what you like.

Is this a medical or mental health tool?

No. It's a personal reflection tool to help you notice what lifts you up. If you're in crisis in the US, call or text 988 at any time.

Your data

How do I back up my history?

Open Mood › Settings › My data › Export my data and save the file anywhere you like. The app also keeps a weekly copy in Files › On My iPhone › Beniii TV. To restore on a new phone, use Import a backup in the same place. Backups include your profile, photo, your own titles, saved quotes and Title Talk chats.

How do I delete everything?

Use Mood › Settings › My data › Delete everything, or delete the app. See the privacy policy for details.

Do I need an account?

Not for tracking, picks, moods or quotes: they work without signing in. Friends, Title Talk, the daily riddle and challenges need a free account with Sign in with Apple.

How do I delete my Friends account?

Open Mood › Settings › Account › Delete my account. It deletes your profile, friends, shares, messages, riddle and challenge data from our server, revokes Sign in with Apple and removes your chats from your iPhone. Everything else on your iPhone stays.

Friends and Title Talk

How do I add a friend?

In the Friends tab, tap Add friend and enter their exact @username or 8-character friend code, or scan their QR code. Nobody can find you by searching.

How does Title Talk work?

You talk in titles: search a movie or show (or a meaning, like "I'm coming" for Coming to America), add emojis and ? ! …, and send. There's no free text. Long-press a message to react, delete it, report it or block the sender.

Where are my chats saved? I got a new iPhone.

Chats are saved on your iPhone. Our server deletes each message once it reaches your friend's phone (or after 30 days if it never arrives), so it can't send old chats to a new phone. To move them, export a backup on the old iPhone (Settings › Export my data) and import it on the new one.

How does the daily riddle work?

Every day at midnight (New York time) there's a new emoji riddle for a movie or show. You get 10 guesses, a hint after 3 wrong ones and another after 6. At 11 PM the answer is revealed. Solving it adds 3 points and grows your streak, and your friends are told you solved it (never the answer).

What do friends see about my challenges and milestones?

If Share my milestones with friends is on, friends see milestone names like "100 episodes" and your weekly counts on the leaderboard. Never your moods, notes, ratings, watch history or titles you added yourself. Turn it off in Settings › Account.

Someone is bothering me.

Long-press their message or name and choose Block: it's instant and they aren't told. Choose Report so we can review it within 24 hours. You can also email us.

Your own titles and quotes

Can I add a show or movie that isn't in the library?

Yes: tap + in Lists or Add my own in Discover. Add seasons and episodes, a photo or an orange title card. Your own titles stay on your iPhone and work like any other title.

Where are the lines from my notifications?

In Mood › My quotes: every line you received, favorites first. You can also save your own favorite movie lines there. Famous movie lines are off by default; turn them on in Settings › Motivation.

Titles and posters

Where do posters and episode info come from?

Posters, episode lists, ratings and descriptions come from TMDB (The Movie Database). Where-to-watch information is provided by JustWatch. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

A title shows "Needs check". What does that mean?

The app couldn't be sure it found the right version on TMDB, so it shows no poster rather than a wrong one. Open the title and tap Needs check to pick the right match.

Why are posters missing?

Posters load the first time you're online. If you started the app offline, they'll appear once you're connected. Pull down on a list to refresh.
